MY STORY

How I got involved with Chow Chows, become a breeder and Chow Chow lover!
My friend saw a Chow in the back of a pick up truck and ask me what breed of dog it was because she thought it was so beautiful. I was not that familiar with Chows other than what they looked like. We then studied about Chows so she could decide if she wanted to get one and she did so her next move was getting a Chow pup. She and I went on a shopping spree and took home the first good natured and beautiful Chow pup we found - a beautiful cinnamon male (Teddy) that was the love of all of us. He was an awesome Chow and brought many years of joy to many people.
Teddy's parents were Kodiak & Jazman. The owners were from Gladstone Oregon. After being around Teddy, I thought that Chows were the greatest breed I have ever come across. My next move was heading out to Larch Mtn. Chows in Corbett Oregon where Kodiak came from. I was surprised to find Kodiak and Jazman in Corbett and that the Gladstone family had moved back East and had given both dogs to the Larch Mtn. Chows.
While I was trying to look at the litter of pups that Ethel’s granddaughter
Jennifer Bierer had, Jazman was falling in love with me and had more enthusiasm
for me then they had ever seen her have for any person. I ended up going home
with Jazman and not a puppy. I knew she was Teddy’s mother and she would be
capable in having
beautiful pups from her and she was such a darling dog - I had an idea then I
might want to start breeding again.
Later on I took Jazman back
up to Corbett to get bred. I used to breed another breed
and and since I have been with Chows they are the love of my life!
Starting in the early 80's we bred and field trialed Brittney's. I have been an animal/dog lover since I was very young but I have a special place in my heart for Chows and think they are the greatest breed. I also enjoy teaching people the wonderful truth about Chows. I have a goal to breed the best chows every, healthy, beautiful and without dysplasia or eye issues.
I love going to the shows and we show our chows in the Confirmation Classes.
I also really enjoy placing a bundle of joy in the arms of both Show Home
Families and Companion Homes a like.
